Course Full Stack Developer: Backend
Modern Web Technologies
In this lesson, you will understand what Web Development Frameworks are and how they are used in real-world scenarios when creating a web application.
Why Use Frameworks?
During this course, we are going to build a very simple website, as our main goal is to learn the fundamentals of web development. We will use only HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. However, when building more complex websites, developers often use frameworks (we will learn about them in-depth in our next courses).
Frameworks are built using some of the technologies that we are going to learn during this course and some additional ones. The main benefits of using a framework are:
- Efficiency: Frameworks speed up the development process by providing pre-built functions and libraries that solve common problems.
- Scalability: Frameworks are designed with best practices in mind, which makes it easier to scale your application as it grows.
- Security: Frameworks often include built-in security features to help protect your application from common vulnerabilities.
- Maintainability: By following the conventions and structure provided by the framework, your code becomes more organized and easier to maintain.
In the last lesson, we learned about Frontend vs Backend, and we can also divide frameworks into these two categories.
Backend Frameworks
Backend frameworks already implement many features that we need when creating the backend of a website. Usually, we need to provide responses to requests made by clients, manage assets (we will learn more about that during this course), use a template engine to render HTML, communicate with the database, and so on.
Here are some examples of frameworks for backend development:
